So, here we are...having built our business to a successful point. And that took almost nine years!
Things were good.
We were moving forward.
Money was coming in, and we were happy.
Have you ever gotten to a point where you've built something to a crescendo, to a big moment, to a level of success, that you had desired?
And then you realize...Hey, maybe it's time for something different. Maybe it's time to let it go, and to move on.
Well, for me, that's exactly where I was. We had built the restaurant to a level of success that we had always hoped for. And at that moment, I realized I was a little burnt out. I was ready for a new challenge.
It took some courage to go home and tell Deborah,
"I think I want to make a change. It's time for me to do something different."
Well, what we did next was we marketed and sold the business. I moved on to a new venture.
I can tell you, it wasn't easy, but at the same time, it was satisfying.
I had built this business from the ground up. This was a start-up restaurant in a world where most start-up restaurants fail. Even worse, 85 percent of most start-up franchises fail. I had a sense of accomplishment, but I really wanted something more. I wanted something more out of life, and I wanted something more out of the business world.
I didn't just wanna keep doing the same thing day after day after day. That's when we decided to go ahead and sell the restaurant, and to move on to a new adventure.
Not only did we sell the restaurant and tackle a new adventure, but we tackled that new adventure in an entirely different state. We packed up and moved, and left everything behind.
Have you ever felt like either you are accomplished in a certain area, or maybe you're just not accomplishing enough in that area? And maybe it's time for a change.
You know, a good friend of mine says, "Either life moves on you, or you move on life." And at that time, it was time for us to move on life before it moved on us.
I'm Michael Ponte and in My Course, I'm going to help you evaluate where you are and where you wanna be and best of all, how to get there.
